What you will study
The course comprises three projects, completed over a one year period. You will learn skills in a range of specialisms including drawing, painting, printmaking, textiles, ceramics, photography, and moving image. You will participate in live projects, exhibitions and attend trips. At the end of the year you will produce your ‘Final Major Project’ and exhibit your work in the Priestley Summer Show.

How you will be assessed
Formal assessment of your sketchbook, research and practical work at the end of each project. Your ‘Final Major Project’ is externally moderated and determines the overall qualification grade of Pass, Merit or Distinction. Submission includes sketchbook work, practical work and final exhibition.
Priestley extra
You will have the opportunity to use the wide range of studio facilities available at Priestley College, including printing equipment (lino, intaglio and screen printing), photography studio, 3D and ceramic workshop, textile studios; with access to sewing machines, laser cutters and the Adobe Creative Suite. You will attend three trips throughout the year to support your artwork; these will include gallery visits and resource gathering.
Progression
On completion of the course you have the opportunity to apply to relevant L3 courses including AS Level and Vocational qualifications at Priestley College. Your performance on the course, alongside existing qualifications, will be taken into account in your application. Information on apprenticeships or employment opportunities will also be available.

Study Programme
A-Level and Vocational (Level 3) students are expected to follow a full study programme of three plus one AS-Level courses/equivalents. Your study programme can, however, include a Specialism as one of your choices.
